Five Steps to Being Your Own Personal Hijacker

If you're anything like me, when faced with the reality that you only have a few seconds to get away from a potentially dangerous situation, your first thought is going to be to grab your pocket knife and run.pocket knife for protection Unfortunately, that's not what you do in most cases! Although a well-designed pocket knife can certainly come in handy in many situations, I'm going to show you how to use it the right way - for protection, of course. Let's face it - having a good pocket knife isn't going to save your life, and in some cases it actually will make things a lot worse. So, let's learn how to use your pocket knife for protection instead.

Your first goal should be to make it as hard as possible for an assailant to get a good grip on you. This means that whatever you are doing - walking around the house, talking on the phone, cooking - you move as slowly as possible. This also minimizes the amount of space that they have to squeeze into, thus giving you more time to work with. You don't want to give them any room to squeeze in and attack you! If you need a little extra help with this, try to carry a can of pepper spray in your bag at all times (you'll probably need more than one, but getting one will give you plenty of time to arm yourself).

Second, you need to close your distance with the knife as quickly as possible. When there are multiple attackers, it can seem impossible to escape even if you have a lot of tools available to you. But that's not true! All you have to do is swing your knife wildly in a single motion, cutting anything and everything in your path. Use your momentum to swing your blade through anything that is in your path, and that will cut it instantly and stop it instantly. So use your pocket knife for protection and do this!

Third, keep your eyes open. One of the most common mistakes that people make when fighting is that they try to attack their opponent from behind. This is a deadly mistake! You see, if you've ever been attacked from behind, you know that it is nearly impossible to get out without having some form of injuries to deal with. So don't do it - just keep your eye open, and you'll be fine!

Fourth, try to wear something dark as a blindfold. This may sound silly, but it's true! Most criminals use their knives to do their dirty work, and you can take advantage of this fact by not letting them see you. Try wearing a dark colored shirt, or a pair of dark pants. Leave your hair loose, and tie your scarf around your neck. This will keep you from being able to see what he is doing, and you'll have time to reach for your knife when he does strike!

Fifth, stay on your toes! This may sound funny, but if a criminal is chasing you, especially one who is armed, chances are, he's going to try and flip you over his back. If you have a pocket knife in your back pocket, you can flip yourself over onto your face (the best position), and the blade of the knife will be in reach, and you'll have the knife ready to cut his throat!
